Some objects, phenomena and events act so powerfully on the imagination that we all have their patterns written into our subconscious. Not only do we intuitively feel common associations – according to astrologers we draw knowledge of the past and future from them too. One of these 'codes' recognisable to all is the diamond – pure, beautiful, valuable and indestructible.

What then does a dream about diamonds mean? Let us take a look at a dream book. A dream of a diamond then is usually a very positive omen! It is a symbol of love fulfilled (perhaps because most often placed in engagement rings are diamonds?), prosperity and happiness in life. If in a dream we hold a diamond in our hand, we can count on improvement in the state of our health, while a diamond in a setting foretells a happy marriage. Surely the best omen is a dream of swallowing a diamond – this brings the certainty of finding our own way to an affluent and happy life. And if we dream that we have a great deal of diamonds? This dream is a guarantee of prosperity.

Nothing good awaits us if we dream that we lose a diamond, however – we miss out on a wonderful opportunity. No surprise there. After all, the loss of a diamond is never associated with pleasure; why in a dream should it be otherwise? Interestingly, a diamond received as a gift in a dream foretells nothing especially good – it may mean that we have too little initiative and that someone else directs our life. Then again, the reality of a dream is governed by its own laws, since to receive the gift of a diamond is after all a true pleasure!
